We have an exciting opportunity with an ad agency in the Oakland area, looking for an Account Director, VP to join their team in an ongoing, consulting project!
This is a hybrid temp to hire position (2 – 3 days onsite in Oakland, CA)
Rate: $95/hr
Responsibilities:
Ensures quality of work from all departments in the agency
Responsibility for client satisfaction and internal team development and retention
Builds a relationship with the client senior management (and executive client, when appropriate)
Must understand fiscal responsibilities required to manage account(s); this knowledge includes
helping the client spend their budgets wisely across all disciplines while maintaining agency
profitability for excellent service and able to reconcile account budgets for best practice
responsibilities)
Client satisfaction on the assigned account(s) is the ultimate business goal.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
Supports the leadership of timely development and execution of plans, campaigns, and projects
to ensure that the clients’ goals and objectives are achieved.
Knowledge of the development of budget recommendations, business goals, ROI measurements,
and training requirements necessary to provide both quality and profitable service to clients.
Executes duties and assignments as directed consistent with client guidelines and objectives.
Provides leadership and conveys the vision and values of the Agency to the client and to their
own staff. Manages develops, presents presentations.
Works in compliance with Agency processes, policies and procedures as well as follows Client processes to their provided guidelines relative to budgeting, legal clearance and approvals.
Assigns duties, deliverables, and provides line supervision of the account service staff.
Maintains awareness and controls situations which may lead to the risk of write-offs; has strong accounting and finance abilities; can read a profit and loss statement, manage client budgets against agency costs and provides clients efficiencies, support strategic initiatives wherever possible.
Assures that Client and Agency relationships remain harmonious and that the Clients receive a quality of service which will encourage further growth and profitability.
Attends appropriate business/social functions which may enhance the image of the Agency, reveal growth opportunities, identify risks to the business and solidify Client relationships.
Participates in new business efforts; and advises of the potential for new business opportunities.
Other responsibilities, as needed and as required by Agency performance Standards/Measurement of Success:
Client satisfaction ratings are high. No major misunderstandings or problems exist between agency and client. As problems arise, they are proactively and satisfactorily dealt with in accordance with company policy.
Client marketing and advertising objectives are achieved; Annual communication plans are prepared and approved by clients.
Annual contract negotiations are brought to view and managed as required (including signing of contracts for current and subsequent periods).
Annual competitive media spending and creative message review is presented to clients.
Qualifications:
8-10+ years of experience within an advertising agency environment
At least 7 years of experience managing a team of account managers, overseeing an account or specific brand category
Entrepreneurial and self-starting; passionate about their work, able to grow as well as maintain and improve client relationships, within a focused value-additive approach
Experience and/or strong understanding of the African American consumer market
Experience with segmented and integrated marketing programs
Experience in creative production and knowledge in digital, mobile and social media, events and experiential marketing programs
Management and leadership ability and strong presentation skills w/confidence and ability to engage with client(s)
Understanding of client budgets, regulatory and efficiencies to improve program value and increase ROI
Ability to communicate and interpret industry documents (including contracts and budgets)
Capable of developing, mentoring and managing off site staff and providing nimble oversight from multiple locations
