Senior Account Executive
Our client, a bi-coastal public relations agency working across the hospitality, entertainment, design, health and wellness, and events sectors, is looking for a Senior Account Executive to join their team. The primary category this person will be working on is hospitality.
Location: must be LA based, working remotely but flex for on-site monthly client meetings (they have a shared office space with a conference room for when it's needed but everyone is working remotely)
Salary: 70-85k range, can be flexible depending on candidate experience.
The day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Write press releases, media pitches, case studies, recaps, media briefing documents, talking points, bios, etc.
- Work with account team to develop and implement program strategies and assist in the writing of creative and strategic public relations plans.
- Lead accounts and supervise a junior team.
- Direct experience building brands.
- Pitch press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print,
- broadcast and online, to interest them in covering their clients’ stories.
- Respond to phone calls and emails from journalists.
- Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople - in person or over the
- phone - and facilitate these meetings where appropriate.
- Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients.
- Attend client events, in-person meetings/presentations and industry conferences.
- Brainstorm creative ideas for PR campaigns and annual planning meetings.
- Assist with new business proposals.
- Manage media lists.
Qualifications
- A relevant undergraduate degree such as Communications, PR, or Journalism is normally expected, but not required.
Relevant experience
- 4+ years of professional experience working at a PR agency, with a focus on travel and hospitality background.
- A bachelor’s degree from a credited four-year university is preferred.
- Communications/Marketing/Public Relations/Journalism/Integrated Marketing major is preferred.
- Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of products, as well as other internet tools and technologies such as Cision, Google Drive, Adobe, and other file sharing platforms.
