Director of Production

Our client, a streetwear company, is seeking a Production Director. This position is based in NYC and will be hybrid.


Responsibilities:‍

• Manage product development and production calendar each season, ensuring adherence to deadlines with design and merchandising teams as per product release and wholesale market calendar.
• Formulate and implement seasonal sourcing strategies to align with evolving company needs.
• Oversee product development process from concept to production, maintaining continuous communication with mills, trim vendors, and factories for clear and proper sourcing.
• Collaborate closely with design team to ensure timely completion of tech packs.
• Communicate style details with suppliers and vendors to ensure alignment with brand aesthetics and quality standards.
• Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and factories, prioritizing ethical, social, and environmental compliance.
• Negotiate prices and minimum requirements to meet budget and margin targets set by COO.
• Project seasonal sampling product development budgets, monitor costs, and address budgetary concerns with CFO.
• Monitor product quality throughout development, review TOP samples before shipment, and analyze customer feedback for improvement.
• Liaise with logistics team to communicate upcoming shipments and delivery deadlines.
• Share tech packs with vendors and update vendor profiles through PLM.

Qualifications:‍

• Minimum 7 years of experience in global production and product development across various categories, with a focus on menswear preferred.
• Experience leading in a small team and high-growth environment where needs evolve rapidly.
• Strong attention to detail, exceptional follow-through, and a problem-solving mindset.
