Director of Store Design

Our client, a leading women’s fashion brand, is seeking a Director of Store Design to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing the store design process from concept design to store opening, partnering with the Visual Team on interior design, sourcing and sampling.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present design concepts and mood boards, collaborating with Project Managers on layouts for new and existing stores.
  • Research and implement the latest retail design trends and innovations.
  • Work in partnership with external designers, consultants, contractors, etc.
  • Manage the specifications and production of domestic and international finishes, including custom furnishings, fabrics, etc.
  • Review furniture, lighting, and shop drawings for design compliance, and oversee all sample submittals.
  • Collaborate with project architects to create presentations with supporting materials for senior management.
  • Draw custom furniture, design elevations, patterns, carpets, and floor plans to scale using AutoCAD.
  • Produce detailed design sketches, 2D and 3D elevations, presentation materials, and other essential design documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with high-end commercial and retail spaces.
  • Ability to understand and communicate site-specific requirements and dimensions.
  • Capable of independently managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D interior design software, including SketchUp and AutoCAD.

Hybrid on site in New York City

Salary: $90,000-130,000 commensurate with experience
