Lead Designer

A beauty cosmetics company is looking for a Lead Designer to oversee a design team, manage the creation of packaging, print, and digital assets, and ensure seamless project execution onsite in Ventura three days a week. The ideal candidate will have experience in team leadership, a strong design portfolio, and the ability to work closely with senior management to align projects with the brand's vision. A background in beauty, fashion, or wellness is preferred.

Hybrid: 3 days a week on-site in Ventura, CA

Direct Hire

$100K-$110K - depending on experience!

Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the in-house design team of 6, ensuring efficient workflow and project delivery.
Collaborate closely with the creative services director to align design projects with company goals.
Lead the design of packaging, print, and digital assets, prioritizing 60% design work and 40% management.
Manage onsite tasks 3 days a week in Ventura, coordinating with the team and handling product-related needs.
Facilitate communication with the founder for final project approvals, ensuring alignment with brand vision.

Experience:
Experience managing a small design team (1-2 people) or working as a senior designer with leadership responsibilities.
Proficiency in designing across multiple platforms, including print, packaging, and digital; digital-only experience is acceptable.
Ability to project manage and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work onsite and collaborate effectively with remote and onsite teams.
Background in beauty, fashion, or a parallel industry like wellness.
