Compliance Coordinator

Our client, an apparel company, is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to join their team in NYC! This individual will oversee daily interactions between factories/suppliers and internal departments to ensure adherence to factory standards and that products meet the quality expectations of customers and brands (including testing and inspections).

Responsibilities:

  • Assess products to confirm they meet testing standards and customer specifications
  • Assist with the onboarding process and setup for new factories and suppliers.
  • Continuously verify that factories and suppliers comply with various brands’ and retailers’ quality, standards.
  • Communicate daily with factories and suppliers to ensure required regulatory and performance tests are conducted for products.
  • Manage and address testing failures and non-compliance issues with factories, suppliers, and retailers.
  • Ensure that testing requirements for major retailers are communicated clearly to internal teams and suppliers.
  • Maintain records and update testing statuses in internal systems.
  • Coordinate with third-party testing labs and auditing firms to finalize testing protocols and review testing fees and audit programs.


Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in apparel manufacturing, product evaluation, or factory adherence.
  • Familiarity with US federal and state safety standards for clothing
  • Experience with testing procedures and compliance requirements for large retailers like Walmart, Costco, BJs Wholesale.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong skills in both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize several projects at once while consistently meeting deadlines
