VP of Sourcing/Production

Our client, a growing children’s apparel company, is seeking a VP of Sourcing/Production to join their team in New York!

Responsibilities:

• Lead, guide, and expand the teams responsible for production, sourcing, and quality control, specifically focusing on children's products
• Negotiate terms for pricing, delivery schedules, and payment agreements with an emphasis on meeting the needs of the market
• Collaborate with existing suppliers and establish new global partnerships that are reliable and safe
• Ensure all product standards are met, including rigorous testing and inspections
• Work closely with sales and merchandising teams to achieve cost targets
• Oversee internal production processes and manage the quality control team to maintain high safety and quality standards for children's products
• Coordinate logistics and shipping with the operations department, ensuring timely delivery of items
• Partner with the compliance team to ensure that factories meet all customer-required standards

Qualifications:

• Experience in producing goods for major retailers like Costco, Wal-Mart, Macy's, etc.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing and production
• Experience working with duty-free regions and emerging markets in the context of children's goods
• Willingness to travel internationally as necessary to oversee production and ensure compliance
• Exceptional negotiation, project management, and leadership skills. Proficiency in managing large teams and complex production schedules.
• In-depth understanding of global sourcing, production standards, quality control, and compliance regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
