Private Teacher

A private family is seeking a dedicated and experienced Private Teacher to provide individualized education for their three young children, a 4th grader, 2nd grader and preschooler. This unique role requires a candidate who can offer a tailored educational experience, balancing academic growth with the flexibility needed for the family’s dynamic lifestyle. The ideal candidate is innovative and will also take initiative to learning not just in the traditional sense of homeschooling but also as a self-starter in finding other activities to foster development (field trips, co-op activities, and hands-on educational opportunities).

Palm Beach, FL

Schedule: This is a full-time role that will require at least 40 hours per week and requires the flexibility to travel alongside the principal as needed. This contract would be through the end of the school year with possible chance of renewal.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily instruction across a range of subjects for all three children, adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and developmental stages and keep the children at a competitive advanced learning pace
  • Design and implement accredited personalized lesson plans and educational activities that meet the individual learning needs and goals of each child, ensuring alignment with appropriate grade-level standards
  • Incorporate elements of social, emotional, and physical development into the educational experience, fostering well-rounded growth-Regularly assess and track each child’s academic progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure continued advancement
  • Maintain open communication with the parents including weekly reports and calendars of lesson plans, as well as any adjustments to the teaching plan

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with experience in early childhood education and primary grades
  • Experience in a private home is highly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Willingness to travel, depending on the family’s schedule
  • Ability to create a flexible and responsive learning environment that can adapt to the family’s changing locations and schedules
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both the parents and the children
