Apparel Sourcing and Costing Manager

Our client, a fast-growing apparel Company, is looking for an Apparel Sourcing and Costing Manager to join their team in NYC! The Apparel Sourcing and Costing Manager offers high-level support to a dynamic Sourcing Department. This role focuses on overseeing factory selection, costing, and production placement.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of sourcing strategies, product development, and the production process, along with cost and pricing objectives.
  • Facilitate communication with factories and engage in research and development for each brand by collaborating closely with overseas fabric mills.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising and design teams to stay updated on seasonal styles.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to determine garment costs and manage the product lifecycle from concept through pre-production, ensuring thorough and efficient costing.
  • Utilize standardized formulas for profit and department margins to create sales profit charts
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve cost savings before purchasing.
  • Input all costing data into the PLM system.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of cost sheets prior to distribution to the merchandising team.
  • Maintain BOM costing documents and identify opportunities for cost reduction.


Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to thrive in a time-sensitive, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of production experience in a wholesale setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PLM systems.
  • Capable of multitasking and problem-solving effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and collaborating with remote cross-functional teams, across multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrates a professional work ethic and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in NYC office full time
