Sushi Chef - Reputable Restaurant Group

Our client, a Reputable Restaurant Group is hiring for a sushi chef. Reporting into the Executive Chef, the Sushi Chef will be responsible for all preparation and development of sushi.

Including but not limited to; handle a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, manage food stock and work with strong attention to detail. Tailor to members within quality standards. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience as a Sushi Chef within a fast-paced, intimate, fine-dining environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and making sushi, sashimi, and rolls according to all guidelines.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining kitchen.
  • Managing ingredients and supplies to maintain fresh products and cost control.
  • Communicating with all kitchen and wait staff.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Inspecting the quality of seafood and other ingredients to ensure food quality and presentation standards are met.
  • Help develop recipes and ensure quality of meals.

Qualifications:

  • 3-4+ years of previous work experience as a Sushi Chef.
  • Strong knife skills for cutting and prepping fish.
  • Good personality who fits in with their company culture.
  • Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques.
  • Ability to work both fast and accurately.
  • Flexibility to take on various shifts.
  • Certification from a culinary school is required.
