Head Sportswear Designer - Women's

Our client, a contemporary outerwear brand is looking for a Head Sportswear Designer to join their women's apparel team in NYC!

Responsibilities:‍

• Plan and develop a fresh young contemporary outwear collection by season
• Create CAD presentations along with style information, artwork, and color palettes
• Create original tech packs
• Creative conception/design
• Manage the development of sample prototypes
• Prepare for buyer meetings and presentations
• Work closely with Sales to strategize new business development and ideas to maximize sales
• Submit a T&A calendar between Sales and Production to maintain timing between Sales, Design and Production
• Multitask multiple projects

Qualifications:‍

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Design
• 5+ years of fashion design experience, specifically sportswear
• Technical knowledge of fabrications and garment construction
• Ability to cost engineer to achieve target costs while maintaining integrity of the product
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
