Associate Technical Designer

Our client, a growing girls apparel company, is seeking an Associate Technical Designer to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities:
‍

• Manage a variety of product categories across Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Men’s divisions in both knits and wovens.
• Perform precise measurements for Fit, PP and TOP samples.
• Participate in fit evaluations, taking thorough notes and documenting necessary adjustments.
• Develop initial technical packages for costing and sample submissions.
• Ensure all modifications are implemented during pre-production to guarantee fit and quality standards.
• Proficient in grading and creating graded specifications.
• Maintain production schedules to meet all deadlines.
• Oversee sample progress and keep records up-to-date in the sample library.
• Foster strong relationships with teams across design, merchandising, production, and sales for smooth collaboration.

Qualifications:‍

• 4+ years working in apparel design and production.
• In-depth knowledge of garment construction, pattern drafting, manufacturing methods, and textiles.
• Proficient in using PLM software and advanced Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented, quick to adapt, and eager to learn.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively with teams.
• Experienced in managing tasks within a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design.
