Design & Production Assistant - Women's Athleisure

Our client, a fast-growing apparel brand, is seeking a Design & Production Assistant to join their team in NYC! The Design and Production Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the entire design and production workflow. This position involves working closely with various teams, including design, merchandising, and technical production.

Responsibilities:‍

• Support the design team in research, trend analysis, and the development of inspirational materials such as mood boards and color palettes
• Work collaboratively with merchandising, technical, and production teams to ensure design and production timelines are met for various accounts.
• Assist the design team in maintaining and updating CADs, BOMs, and tech packs, ensuring accuracy in fabric, trim, and cost details.
• Help create development sketches, annotations, and notes to support design concepts.
• Monitor and assist in managing production processes, maintaining close communication with designers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Prepare and organize tech packs, including detailed garment sketches and technical specifications after meetings with buyers.
• Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for design-related tasks
• Ensure that design execution aligns with brand standards while maintaining cost and timeline constraints.
• Manage a high volume of work efficiently, with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:‍

• 1-3+ years of experience in fashion design, merchandising, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of design trends, fit, patternmaking, technical garment construction, and various fabrics.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of PLM and CLO 3D is a plus.
• Experience with tech pack creation and BOM management.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks at once.
