Technical Designer - Women's Athleisure

Our client, a growing apparel brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join their team in NYC!


Responsibilities:

  • Measure fit samples, including pre-production (PP) and top-of-production (TOP) samples.
  • Participate in fit sessions with the team, capturing feedback and taking detailed notes during fittings.
  • Support the implementation of fit comments and identify any construction or workmanship issues that need to be addressed.
  • Provide insights on fit, fabrics, and trims to ensure the desired aesthetics are achieved while adhering to budget targets.
  • Create development, costing, and production tech packs for vendors to facilitate sample submissions.
  • Confirm that all necessary corrections are made during the pre-production sample phase to secure an optimal fit for production.
  • Provide grading information to vendors to expedite the production process while maintaining in-house and private label standards.
  • Assist in organizing samples and managing fabric inventory.
  • Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including design, merchandising, and sales.
  • Collaborate with private label accounts to achieve the desired fit.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising.
  • 5+ years of experience in junior or women’s apparel.
  • Strong knowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and various fabrics.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a willingness to learn; must be a team player.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Ability to work in office full time.
