Senior Account Executive, Women's

Our client, a women's apparel brand, is seeking a Senior Account Executive for women's apparel to join our team with experience in full-price, off-price, OR club accounts. This role will focus on cultivating new accounts and expanding business with existing ones. The ideal candidate will identify and strategize ways to penetrate new markets, conduct competitive analysis, and monitor industry trends to inform internal partners as needed.

This role is on-site 5x a week in NYC.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on line planning in the context of a broader assortment and cost structure, tailoring proposals for each customer.
  • Create and execute seasonal business proposals with suggested assortments based on marketplace analysis and customer demographics.
  • Enter all customer orders and coordinate with the sales coordinator to ensure timely allocation and shipment.
  • Work closely with Merchandising, Design, and Sourcing teams to align on product offerings.
  • Manage a specific segment of the business while fulfilling standard Account Executive duties.
  • Interact strategically with upper management to align on business goals.
  • Meet with retail buyers and upper management to present product deliveries and achieve budget targets.
  • Partner with the planning department to meet gross margin goals.
  • Develop, manage, and present budgets and sales forecasts.
  • Create and present assortments with strong recommendations, preparing thoroughly for meetings to strategize sales opportunities.
  • Set up and follow through on sales presentations, including meeting agendas and recaps that are proactive and results-oriented.
  • Analyze competitors' strengths and weaknesses to identify market opportunities.
  • Manage inventory and ensure effective movement of available-to-sell (ATS) stock.
  • Oversee showroom samples and ensure accurate order distribution from customers, validating EDI orders and notifying relevant parties of any discrepancies.
  • Maintain open order reports and modify dates as necessary with sales manager approval.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with Merchandising, Design, Marketing, Sourcing, and other departments.
  • Strong independent account management skills.
  • Proficient in Google Drive/Applications or similar software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively when appropriate.
  • Comfortable functioning in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail math.

Experience Requirements:

  • Full-price experience with major retailers such as Belk, Dillard's, and Von Maur, in both branded and private label contexts.
  • Off-price experience with retailers like Marmaxx, Winners, and Ross.
  • Club store experience with Sam's Club, BJ's, and Costco.
