Sommelier - Luxury Hospitality Group

Our client, a luxury hospitality group, is seeking a talented Sommelier to join their brand-new location in New York City! This individual should have outstanding service and salesmanship skills, a desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and a deep love and passion for wine, as they will be working with a world-class list of over 1,100 labels.


Responsibilities:
-Provide expert wine recommendations to guests and members.
-Educate staff and guests about wine selections and pairings.
-Assist with ordering and receiving, inventory management and wine list updates.

Qualifications:
-4+ years of experience in front-facing wine service / strong service background.
-CMS certification (level 2 or above) or WSET level 3 (preferred but not required).
-Strong knowledge of wines from around the world with a focus on French and Italian wines.
-Excellent salesmanship and hospitality skills.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-end dining environment.
-Fluency in French or Italian is strongly preferred.
