VP of Sales, Accessories

Our client, a prominent international apparel and accessories company, is seeking a VP of Sales - Accessories to join their leadership team. This position offers the opportunity to lead the sales and profitability efforts for a key product category within a globally recognized brand. The role reports directly to the Senior VP of Sales and requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader who can drive growth, manage a high-performing team, and collaborate across departments including merchandising, design, sourcing, and retail planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with merchandising and design teams to develop a well-rounded line assortment that aligns with market trends and customer needs.
  • Develop and execute account plans in collaboration with the retail planning team and sales managers, ensuring alignment with business goals and retail strategies.
  • Present product assortments and financial plans to retail customers, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring alignment with overall sales objectives.
  • Prepare and negotiate sales contracts in accordance with the buying calendar, and present them to production planning for execution.
  • Monitor retail sales performance and adjust sales models based on basic programs, ensuring alignment with retail planning and wholesale objectives.
  • Analyze retail sales data from accounts and update internal review forms, working with the sales managers and retail planning teams to strategize on receipts, sales, and markdowns.
  • Monitor inventory levels, both fashion and basic assortments, working closely with wholesale planning to make necessary recommendations and ensure alignment with stock plans and budget.
  • Visit retail accounts quarterly, working with buying offices and retail teams to discuss current business and future opportunities. Conduct store visits to provide

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure that all branding efforts are consistent with the company’s goals and customer expectations.
  • Prepare and update financial documents, including shipments, returns, and profitability reports, and share with the division controller to ensure financial targets are met.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively to internal teams and retail partners.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex sales data and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the product category, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Brand management expertise, with the ability to think conceptually and globally.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business or a related field).
  • 10-15+ years of experience in building and launching successful brands with a proven track record of profitable sales growth.
  • Experience in leading high-performing sales teams and collaborating across multiple functions.
  • Strong ability to build and execute strategic plans and marketing initiatives that drive sustainable, profitable growth.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $190K-$240K.
