Director of Production & Sourcing

Our client, a leading apparel company specializing in activewear, sportswear, and outerwear, is seeking a Director of Production & Sourcing for their Ladies' division. This fast-paced, high-volume company serves major retailers such as Walmart, Costco, and Amazon, and is looking for a strong leader to manage the production and sourcing of their ladies' product lines. This role requires an experienced professional with a deep understanding of production processes, sourcing strategies, and team management.

This position requires on-site presence 5 days a week, with a salary range of $150K-$180K depending on experience. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production for all Ladies' Sportswear, Activewear, and Outerwear categories, ensuring efficient and timely execution from concept to delivery.
  • Source and cost the product line in close collaboration with the design and sales teams to meet financial objectives.
  • Coordinate with factories and mills to ensure showroom samples are delivered on time, maintaining effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Address and resolve any delivery delays or production issues with factories, ensuring products meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, merchandising, sales, and logistics teams to streamline product development and execution.
  • Manage and provide ongoing coaching and support to a team of 3 Senior Production Managers and 4 Technical Designers, ensuring team performance aligns with company goals.
  • Work closely with the design team on product development, sourcing fabrics, and identifying potential suppliers to ensure alignment with product requirements and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards by proactively engaging in factory-level quality control processes.
  • Lead the creation and execution of production timelines and status updates, providing accurate and actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive projects forward and provide accurate status updates to stakeholders and leadership teams, ensuring all initiatives remain on track and within budget.
  • Interview, hire, and train new team members as needed, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the production department.
