Associate Sweaters Designer - Juniors

Our client, a wholesale apparel manufacturing company, is seeking an Associate Sweaters Designer - Juniors, to join their team in New York!

Responsibilities:

  • Work with merchandiser to develop a line from conception to final product for our juniors category.
  • Understand the brand’s target audience and devise designs that resonate with our demographic while pushing creative boundaries.
  • Create and present design concepts, including sketches, mood boards, and material choices.
  • Collaborate intimately with the production team to ascertain that designs are producible within budgetary and timeline constraints.
  • Foster communication with suppliers to guarantee quality, punctuality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Research and evaluate fashion trends, colors, and fabric innovations pertinent to the juniors market.
  • Regularly survey the competitive market and analyze customer preferences to maintain a leading edge in the industry.
  • Engage and liaise with other departments, notably Sales and Production.

Qualifications:

  • Robust comprehension of garment construction, fit, and materials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of knitwear techniques.
  • Mastery over Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and other pivotal design software.
  • Profound insight into market trends, customer inclinations, and the competitive scene in the Missy apparel sector.
  • Exceptional visual and verbal articulation skills.
  • Proficiency in multitasking, adhering to deadlines, and operating in a brisk environment.
  • Essential to be a harmonious team member, exuding a positive demeanor, compelling interpersonal skills, and proactive initiative.
