Production Manager - Socks & Hosiery
Our client, a leading brand in the fashion industry, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end production process for their high-quality sock collections. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong factory management skills, a deep understanding of materials and knitting techniques, and the ability to drive efficiency while maintaining the highest product standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full production lifecycle, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Source and negotiate with factories to optimize costs, quality, and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas factories and vendors, acting as the key liaison for all production needs.
- Create and manage Work in Progress (WIP) reports to track production status and identify potential delays.
- Monitor and enforce the Time & Action (T&A) calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Maintain expert knowledge of yarns, materials, needle counts, gram weights, knitting techniques, and finishing processes to optimize product quality and performance.
- Communicate with factories on sample updates, providing feedback and ensuring timely adjustments.
- Approve the layout and execution of labels, hangtags, price tickets, and carton markings to align with brand standards.
- Identify and resolve production-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines and quality.
Qualifications
- At least 7+ years of production experience, specifically in sock manufacturing.
- Strong vendor management and cost negotiation skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage factory and vendor relationships effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
