Colorist

Our client, a juniors and missy sportswear company, is seeking a Colorist to join their growing team in New York.

Responsibilities:

• Approve all lab dips, strike-offs, screen prints, etc., for development and production
• Ensure color consistency within garments and across coordinated sets and collection
• Communicate color standards and expectations clearly with overseas vendors
• Track and chart lab dips and bulk fabrics from development through production
• Create color cards and order color standards as needed
• Adhere to T&A calendars and manage deadlines to ensure on-time delivery

Qualifications:‍

• Background in textile design with strong knowledge of color and fabric
• Understanding of dyeing and printing techniques across various fiber contents and fabric structures
• Knowledge of textile structures and how they influence color appearance
• Familiarity with industry standards related to fabric, color, and testing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as color/design systems
• Understanding of both visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures
• Ability to use a lightbox and evaluate color with accuracy and consistency

$70,000-$85,000 depending on experience
