Accounting Manager

Our client, a confidential startup at the intersection of games, education, and AI, is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to help drive operational excellence and lay the groundwork for continued growth. Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, delivering timely, GAAP-compliant financial reports
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—Sales, People, Ops—to support business decision-making with accurate financial insights
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Coordinate with external partners including auditors, tax consultants, and vendors
• Assess and enhance accounting tools and systems to ensure scalability and efficiency as the company grows

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior role
• Experience working in high-growth or fast-paced environments; startup experience is a plus
• Strong grasp of US GAAP and familiarity with financial compliance and tax reporting
• Proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar, and strong spreadsheet skills (Excel/Google Sheets)
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
