Director of Licensing

Our client, a global fashion house known for its diverse portfolio of iconic lifestyle brands is seeking a Director of Licensing to lead the growth of its domestic and international licensing business. This role is integral to driving royalty revenue across menswear, womenswear, and lifestyle categories through strategic partnerships, new business development, and cross-functional collaboration. *On-site 5x a week in NYC required.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth & Business Development:

  • Identify and assess new market opportunities for licensing and distribution.
  • Source and secure licensing partnerships that expand the brand’s reach and boost top-line revenue.
  • Collaborate with internal design, merchandising, and marketing teams to develop cohesive and compelling licensed product assortments.
  • Lead negotiations for licensing contracts that maximize profitability and align with long-term brand goals.
  • Monitor key KPIs such as revenue, market share, and partner performance to inform strategic decisions.

Partner Management:

  • Manage and nurture relationships with licensees and distributors to ensure consistent brand alignment and performance.
  • Conduct routine business reviews with partners to drive growth, troubleshoot issues, and optimize licensing outcomes.
  • Ensure contract compliance and oversee licensee adherence to company policies and quality standards.

Brand Integrity & Compliance:

  • Maintain high standards of brand presentation across licensed product categories.
  • Conduct brand audits and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Work closely with legal and brand protection teams to safeguard intellectual property and ensure brand equity is upheld.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in licensing, brand development, or business development within the fashion or consumer goods space.
  • Strong track record of expanding licensing portfolios and driving consistent revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of industry trends, global retail landscapes, and evolving consumer behaviors.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative, results-driven relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

Salary: $120,000-$165,000
