Over 80% of recruiters admit that they post ads for jobs that either don’t exist or are already filled. Here’s why it happens and how to sniff them out.

Natalie Boren, senior vice president of recruitment firm Career Group Companies, explains that ghost listings often occur when companies want to get ahead of the talent pool and have a bank of résumés ready to pull from when a position opens up.
"A lot of companies will recycle the same job ad," she says.
