Are You Quiet Vacationing This 4th Of July?

“Nobody wants to approach their manager and request that time off and be judged or thought of as an underachiever,” says Susan Levine, founder and CEO of Career Group Companies. “But one of the biggest things that people wonder is, ‘Are you really quietly vacationing, or are you stepping away from the responsibilities of the job?’”
Susan Levine emphasizes that time off is ultimately about trust—between employees and their managers. "Your employer needs to trust you to get your work done while working and enjoy your vacation when you’re using PTO," she explains. If requesting time off makes you anxious, it may signal a toxic workplace. And if you’re planning to travel while working remotely, make sure you check company policies—working from another state or country could have tax or legal implications.
