"The majority of a company and executives are on-site. They are expecting for employees to be on-site. There’s a hybrid schedule that people are willing to allow depending on the industry."
Susan Levine, in a conversation with Bloomberg, discussed the evolving work environment, emphasizing that while remote work isn’t entirely gone, most companies are expecting employees to return to the office, with some flexibility for hybrid schedules. Levine highlighted the importance of in-person interaction for fostering collaboration and mentorship, suggesting that this is a key reason why employers are moving back to in-office or hybrid work models.
"I think there’s a misunderstanding that because things are now moving to what I’m going to call a normal pace, people are viewing that as a decline in being able to find that perfect job."
Levine pointed out that the market's shift from a strong candidate-driven environment to a more balanced one should not be mistaken for a decrease in job opportunities, noting that hiring remains strong despite a slower pace.
In her discussion with Bloomberg, Susan Levine explored the shifting dynamics between employers and employees, observing a return to pre-pandemic hiring patterns. While full-time job opportunities remain abundant across various sectors, the flexibility for remote work has diminished, and employers are more cautious in their hiring approach.
