Q: What words do you live by?

A: Nothing is worth getting too upset over. In the context of work, we’re all working together towards the same goal, and it’s important to not get too hung up on the little things. Respecting others and having a sense of humor is also very important.

Q: Best place for lunch in LA?

A: Mrs. Winston’s is definitely my favorite lunch spot.

Q: What do you think makes you a good recruiter?

A: I understand both candidate and client perspectives. Recruiting can be a complicated and personal process because it takes time to find the right career, or the right people for your company. That’s why I practice patience and understanding, as well as active listening. But what I really love about being a recruiter is getting people excited about the opportunities we have at Career Group.

Q: What’s a fun fact people may not know about you?

A: It’s a little out there, but I had a pet possum as a kid. I only had him for about three or four months, but then he grew to be too large for our living space. My dad told us kids he escaped, but he actually set him free.

Q: Cover letter or no cover letter and why?

A: No cover letter! We live in a world where everything moves quickly, and many employers either simply skim them or don’t read them at all. It’s also common that they are too lengthy and have grammatical errors. There’s a lot of room to slip up and say the wrong thing. To a client, a great resume is much better than a mediocre cover letter. At Career Group, we love helping our candidates create spectacular resumes.
