Beverage Manager - Upscale Restaurant Group

Our client, an upscale restaurant group, is seeking an experienced and talented Beverage Manager to join their team in Washington, D.C. As the Beverage Manager you will be responsible for leading all bar service team members in running an efficient and profitable operation, assist developing beverage menu, maintain inventory per company standards, managing day-to-day bar operations, maintaining high bar standards and conditions, and fostering a positive work environment.


Responsibilities:
- Ensures proper team member coverage per the needs of business while maintaining target labor costs.
- Oversees all cash management functions; maintains proper loss prevention standards, including reviewing cash handling procedures, deposits and safe procedures.
- Able to perform all POS functions, including opening and closing procedures, comps, voids and transfers, back-office administration (employee creation, menu management, etc.).
- Plans, executes and communicates all promotions and information effectively and efficiently.
- Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifies and resolves potential safety hazards; Documents accidents, conducts initial investigation and determination of root cause of safety incidents in the interest of maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ensures that all drink and food recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards.
- Hire, train, supervise, manage, coach, counsel, and evaluate hourly employees.
- Acts as role model for outstanding service; continuously works to elevate service standards, and personally embodies hospitality in daily actions.
- Ensures that all team members are educated on company products and services.
- Builds morale and team spirit by fostering a work environment where team members’ input is encouraged.

Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience as Bar or Lounge Manager, of a similar caliber concept.
- 3+ years’ restaurant/hospitality experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Culinary Management, or similar subject, preferred.
- TIPS Certification preferred.
