Controller

A beauty & wellness company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee and optimize financial operations, including managing e-commerce sales processes, inventory accounting, and supply chain operations. The role involves preparing detailed financial reports, maintaining regulatory compliance, and leading the accounting team to support strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, including a senior management role. The ideal candidate should possess expertise with ERP systems, demonstrate advanced forecasting and budgeting skills, GAAP standards, and financial reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities‍

• Manage financial processes related to online sales, digital payment platforms, and e-commerce-specific financial strategies.
• Monitor and analyze the financial impact of inventory levels and supply chain operations, ensuring accuracy in cost accounting and forecasting.
• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting, to guide strategic decision-making.
• Supervise, mentor, and manage the accounting team, fostering collaboration and professional growth while ensuring deadlines and compliance are met.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and e-commerce-specific regulations, including tax laws, online sales security, and data privacy requirements.

Qualifications‍

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 5+ years of experience within accounting or finance.
• Previous experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller, managing all aspects of accounting, including AR/AP, financial closes, audit preparation, and reporting.
• At least 3-5+ years of experience in a senior management role or within e-commerce/consumer goods.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
• Advanced skills in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Strong expertise in Excel
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, with an understanding of IFRS for international sales being an advantage.
• Familiarity with regulations specific to e-commerce, including sales tax compliance, data security, and privacy laws.
