Quality Assurance Engineer
A leading toy company is seeking a part-time QA Engineer, to support a 4-6 month project. You will ensure that all products and services meet internal, customer, and regulatory quality standards by conducting product risk assessments, defining and communicating quality requirements, establishing process controls for development teams, and collaborating with project managers to address concerns and stay current with regulatory developments. This role is integral to the entire product lifecycle, from development through mass production, ensuring the highest standards of quality are consistently achieved
Type: Temporary
Duration: 4-6 Months
Hours: Part Time: 20-30 hours/week
Location: Hybrid - El Segundo
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor and maintain adherence to regulatory, internal, and customer quality standards.
- Engage with factory QA/QC staff to meet production quality targets.
- Conduct product risk assessments to identify and mitigate defects or hazards during the design phase.
- Define and communicate specific quality requirements for new projects to project teams.
- Develop, revise, and manage quality management system (QMS) documents and procedures.
- Oversee field complaints and defects, ensuring lessons learned and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Draft design guides and establish process controls for development teams to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers to address quality concerns and implement production quality control specifications.
- Engage with factory QA staff to establish and refine quality control criteria.
- Partner with customer service and marketing teams to monitor and resolve field complaints.
- Ensure packaging and labeling specifications are met, collaborating with the packaging team as needed.
- Stay current with regulatory developments by engaging with relevant bodies (ASTM, CEN, ISO, etc.) and industry specialists.
