Therapist Aid

As a member of the Central Assessment Team, the Associate AID Therapist collaborates with the Central Intake Team, psychiatry providers, and nursing staff to integrate relevant clinical data and substantiate medical necessity for the recommended level of mental health care. This role is responsible for conducting mental health clinical interviews, completing safety risk and diagnostic assessments, and integrating gathered clinical data as part of the multidisciplinary admissions process. Additionally, the Associate AID Therapist may render provisional mental health diagnoses and contribute to a patient’s ongoing treatment plan. This position requires a strong ability to conceptualize cases, consult, and collaborate with internal and external interdisciplinary resources to coordinate inpatient hospital admissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic interviews and assessments via telehealth under clinical supervision.
  • Provide crisis risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Ensure a positive and effective patient care experience in accordance with company policies.
  • Apply trauma-informed, culturally responsive care tailored to factors such as gender, culture, and age.
  • Provide clinical coverage for therapists within the organization as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field.
  • Licensed or actively pursuing licensure in the state of Minnesota
  • 2+ years of experience in behavioral healthcare (preferred).
  • Knowledge of DSM-IV criteria.
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical leadership and professionals across organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
  • Reliable transportation and telephone access.
  • Ability to adapt quickly between diverse tasks.
