Traffic Manager

A boutique creative design firm is looking to hire a Traffic Manager to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of media content across various networks. This role requires the development, coordination, and execution of plans to facilitate efficient media content distribution by established standards and procedures. The Traffic Manager will also serve as a central liaison, collaborating with Account Management, Production, and stations to ensure all materials are prepared and delivered on schedule.


This role is essential to maintaining the seamless flow of media operations, ensuring that campaigns meet client expectations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience, leadership, and a proactive approach to managing traffic operations effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all commercial continuity processes and workflows between commercial delivery services.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends related to ad operations and trafficking.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously while maintaining organization and prioritization.
  • Review and approve invoices associated with media distribution and related services.
  • Address inquiries from stations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Issue purchase orders to vendors for commercial distribution production needs, including captioning and encoding services.
  • Prepare and distribute traffic instructions to stations or media agencies.
  • Collaborate with Business Affairs to report traffic instructions, ensuring accurate and timely residual invoice generation.
  • Coordinate with media agencies and account teams to manage changes in flight dates, station lists, material needs, and format requirements.
  • Maintain and manage traffic deadlines for broadcast and digital deliverables. Ensure schedules, flight/live dates, and materials align with media plans.
  • Supervise workflows, delegate job assignments, and ensure quality control of all deliverables.
  • Assess agency traffic procedures in collaboration with Business Affairs, Head of Production, and account leadership teams.
  • Oversee trafficking of client materials for TV, terrestrial and digital radio spots across various platforms, including Networks, Local Stations, VOD, and Streaming platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of Traffic/Clearance Department workflows and associated deadlines.
  • Strong ability to perform under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of broadcasting, including Sales, Traffic, Production, and Accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in Digital Asset Management tools and systems.
  • Extensive experience in trafficking and clearance processes for national and local broadcast networks.
  • Strong understanding of commercial advertising trafficking procedures.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey ideas confidently to all levels of management and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Business.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in traffic management, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
