Senior Back-End Service Engineer

A leading entertainment/gaming company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Back-End Service Engineer. The team is dedicated to building a robust, multi-studio platform that enables gamers to play, connect, and engage seamlessly. In this role, you will work on developing and optimizing high-scale e-commerce services that power epic gaming experiences.

Pay: $110 - $135/hr

Duration: 6 Months

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Irvine, CA; On-Site

Key Responsibilities:‍

• Design, develop, and enhance robust e-commerce services.
• Collaborate closely with multiple development teams to ensure seamless technical integration.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance across critical environments.
• Provide technical expertise to cross-disciplinary partners in product management, design, and quality assurance.
• Support live services used by game teams and platform partners, ensuring high uptime and reliability.
  

Required Qualifications:‍

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in developing back-end services.
• Proficiency in Java programming, including experience with related frameworks.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Proven experience in supporting high-concurrency live services and implementing security best practices.
• Familiarity with API design styles such as RPC, REST, and GraphQL.
• Expertise in building microservices and implementing n-tier architectures.
• Knowledge of software testing practices and methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building services that integrate with multiple teams and systems within an organization.
• Familiarity with the Spring framework.
• Knowledge of server infrastructure, especially AWS services like CodeDeploy, SQS, and Lambdas.
• Experience with NoSQL database solutions such as MongoDB.
• Exposure to front-end development technologies like React and Node.js.
