Associate Designer - Men's Sportswear

Our client, an apparel manufacturing brand, is seeking an Associate Designer - Men's Sportswear to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the VP of Men’s Sportswear Design through all phases of line creation and execution.
• Create CADs for presentations and update design line sheets in AI, PDF, InDesign, and Excel.
• Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, fabric swatches, and prototypes.
• Attend fit sessions and photo shoots to ensure design accuracy and execution.
• Maintain updated line sheets and ensure all samples are prepared for the marketing team.
• Communicate with factories to manage product development, SMS, and production timelines.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, fabrics, prints, and techniques for inspiration.
• Ensure product alignment with business strategy and seasonal collections.
• Develop tech packs using Illustrator and PLM, collaborating with technical designers for accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Experience in men’s sportswear across multiple categories, including knits, wovens, sweaters, bottoms, and outerwear.
• Strong fashion and color sense, particularly for the young men’s market.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to product details.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and PLM.
• 4+ years of design experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong conceptual and design skills with a keen sense of style and color.
