Juniors Designer - Cut & Sew Knits

Our client, a well-established Junior + Missy clothing company, is seeking an experienced Designer specializing in Junior’s Cut & Sew Knits to join their team. This is a full-time, in-office role offering an exciting opportunity to create trend-driven, market-relevant designs for a dynamic and fast-paced fashion brand.

Responsibilities‍

• Partner with Sales and Buyers to align designs with market trends and customer needs.
• Develop CAD sketches for presentation to Sales and Buyers.
• Conduct market research through sample shopping, both domestically and internationally, to identify emerging trends.
• Curate and present trend direction, including prints, colors, silhouettes, and fabrications for upcoming seasons.
• Work with costing teams to develop recap charts for customer projects.
• Organize original and proto-sample charts and manage showroom displays.
• Review proto samples and lab dips, providing feedback for adjustments.
• Create tech packs, including proto specs, detail pages, and BOM follow-ups.
• Participate in fit sessions with the Technical Design and Production teams, ensuring proper garment fit.
• Analyze spec measurements and recommend fit adjustments.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications‍

• 5+ years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on junior apparel.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of Cut & Sew Knits across various fabrications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Illustrator, and Outlook.
• Strong understanding of trend forecasting and garment construction.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-moving setting.
• Experience working with Walmart or Kohl’s is a plus.

$75k-$100k depending on experience
