Senior Designer - Baby/Toddler


Our client, an apparel manufacturing brand, is seeking a Senior Designer - Baby/Toddler, to join their New York team!

This position is Full time in office

Compensation: $75,000-$105,000 depending on experience


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of baby and toddler apparel for both boys and girls, covering newborn to toddler sizes.
  • Research trends, fabrics, trims, colors, and silhouettes to create compelling and marketable designs.
  • Develop seasonal collections in alignment with brand and licensing requirements, ensuring differentiation across product lines.
  • Create detailed tech packs, including sketches, specifications, and construction details, for overseas vendors.
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure product feasibility, costing, and timely execution.
  • Manage fittings and oversee revisions, ensuring high-quality standards in fit, fabric, and construction.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive market trends and consumer preferences.


Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in baby/toddler apparel design, preferably with experience in both boys' and girls' categories.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and safety regulations for infant apparel.
  • Experience working with licensed brands and adhering to brand-specific guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM software.
  • Excellent sketching ability, both hand-drawn and digital.
  • Strong knowledge of trend forecasting, market analysis, and competitive shopping.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
