Textile Designer - Apparel

Our client, a women's apparel brand, is seeking a Textile Designer to join their growing team in New York! This individual will develop seasonal prints and embellishments that align with the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards, ensuring accurate execution from concept to production. They will collaborate with design and production teams while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team meets deadlines and stays on track with the production calendar.
  • Prepare presentation boards for design reviews and showroom appointments.
  • Create and refine textile prints and graphics for apparel, ensuring timely completion.
  • Communicate with overseas vendors and factories to finalize designs.
  • Stay ahead of trends and innovations in prints and embellishments, bringing fresh ideas to the team.
  • Work closely with apparel designers to align artwork with seasonal concepts.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to refine scaling, placement, and techniques for graphics.
  • Maintain and update CADs, seasonal assortments, and presentation materials for internal and marketing needs.
  • Oversee color pitching and print approvals, ensuring accuracy in color ways.
  • Organize and maintain the studio’s print library, color palettes, and color standards.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience in graphic art and print design for women’s apparel; denim experience highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to manage teams and foster a collaborative, positive work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of brand DNA and the ability to execute designs accordingly.
  • Established relationships with print studios and experience in budgeting print purchases.
  • Knowledge of textile repeats, factory layouts, and apparel graphic/print techniques (e.g., foil, glitter, embroidery).
  • Experience in creating embroidery artwork and embellishments.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working on calendar deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Full time in office, 5 days a week

$80,000-$100,000 depending on experience
