Sr. Designer – Baby Apparel

Our client, an expanding apparel brand, is seeking a Sr. Designer – Baby Apparel to join their team in NYC.


Responsibilities:‍

• Create original and trend-focused designs for children's apparel, aligned with brand identity and customer needs
• Conduct market and trend research to identify emerging styles, colors, and fabric innovations
• Develop detailed technical sketches, CADs, and presentation boards for internal reviews and buyer meetings
• Collaborate with merchandising, production, and sourcing teams to ensure design feasibility and cost efficiency
• Work closely with licensors and brand partners to adhere to style guidelines for character-driven collections
• Oversee fittings and provide design direction for garment construction, trims, and embellishments
• Ensure all designs meet industry regulations and safety standards for children's clothing
• Maintain an organized workflow, meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in children's apparel design
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in trend research, forecasting, and color development
• Solid understanding of fabrications, garment construction, and production processes
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Keen eye for detail, fit, and quality standards
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance for children's wear
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
• Ability to work full-time in office
