Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinator
Our client, an established apparel brand, is looking for a Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinator to join their team in NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Assess merchandise to confirm alignment with required testing guidelines and specific customer standards by reviewing physical samples with cross-functional teams.
- Assist in onboarding and setting up new manufacturing partners and suppliers.
- Continuously monitor factories and suppliers to ensure they meet various brand, retailer, and client requirements related to social and environmental compliance,
- security audits, and quality control assessments.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers on corrective action plans to enhance compliance ratings.
- Communicate regularly with factories and suppliers to request necessary regulatory and performance testing for soft goods.
- Analyze testing reports for soft goods and ensure compliance with required standards.
- Address and resolve testing failures and non-compliance issues with suppliers and retailers.
- Ensure all testing protocols align with major retailer specifications.
- Maintain and update compliance documentation within internal databases.
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories and auditing firms to finalize testing frameworks, review testing fees, and audit procedures.
- Possess a strong understanding of sustainability certifications within the apparel industry, such as the Higg Index, GRS, RCS, and GOTS.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support business operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- At least two years of experience in apparel production, product testing, or factory compliance.
- Familiarity with U.S. apparel safety regulations, including CPSC, CPSIA, and California Proposition 65.
- Knowledge of testing programs and compliance standards for major retailers such as Walmart, Costco, and Kohl’s is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines efficiently.
