Assistant Project Manager
Our client, a mission-driven and sustainable real estate development firm is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll help drive projects from concept to completion, working alongside experienced project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers. Your support will be key to ensuring projects stay on track, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
Project Management & Coordination:
- Assist in overseeing real estate development projects to meet established schedules, budgets, and performance goals.
- Help navigate entitlement processes, permitting, and securing necessary approvals.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Maintain up-to-date project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Attend meetings, capture detailed notes, and track follow-up actions.
Construction & Field Support:
- Monitor onsite construction activities to confirm alignment with plans, codes, and safety guidelines.
- Assist in handling RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Perform regular site visits, documenting progress and reporting any issues to the senior team.
- Work closely with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to troubleshoot field challenges.
- Help manage procurement timelines and verify vendor invoices.
- Support budget tracking, cost control, and project closeout processes, including punch lists and inspections.
Financial & Administrative Support:
- Assist with budget management, invoice review, and financial reconciliations.
- Organize and maintain essential project records such as contracts, permits, and compliance reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports, status updates, investor materials, and presentations.
- Help gather documentation for financing, loan draws, and assist in developing financial models, cost estimates, and budgets.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, Real Estate, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Strong interest in real estate development and project management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management software is a plus
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Sharp attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset
