CAD Drafter

A toy and entertainment company is looking for a CAD Drafter with Vectorworks experience and Adobe Suite knowledge to assist their team with 2D/3D shop drawings, patterns, and templates for trade show and/or set design!


Location: El Segundo, CA

Schedule: fully On-site

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Duration: 02/10/25 - 5/11/25

Pay: $25 - $35/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Generate detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings, patterns, and templates for various projects, including trade show booths, toy displays, television commercials, and photo shoots.
  • Utilize Vectorworks to translate design concepts into accurate and comprehensive visual representations.
  • Develop preliminary drawings based on conceptual ideas and convert sketches into high-quality renderings for review and approval.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that the proposed designs meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Translate written and verbal information into precise CAD details and assembly drawings.
  • Ensure that CAD drawings align with project specifications, materials, and manufacturing processes to support fabrication efforts in wood, metal, and model shops.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication teams to address any design modifications or adjustments required during the manufacturing process.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment by efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and high-quality CAD drawings to support the production workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Vectorworks is REQUIRED.
  • Demonstrated skills in CAD drafting, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Basic design and layout abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Background in trade shows, set design, or engineering.
  • Familiarity with patterns and templates for props and scenery construction.
