Real Estate Analyst
A premier real estate investment and development firm specializing in multifamily assets seeks a Real Estate Analyst to support investment strategy and portfolio growth. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to acquisitions, asset management, and portfolio optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Analysis & Underwriting:
- Conduct financial analysis and underwriting for multifamily acquisitions and joint ventures.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess cash flows, debt structures, IRR, NPV, and scenario analyses.
- Assist in structuring acquisition and financing terms to optimize deal performance.
Market Research & Due Diligence:
- Perform market research to assess rental demand, competitive positioning, and economic trends.
- Conduct site visits and analyze demographic data to support investment decisions.
- Assist in due diligence, including lease audits, rent roll analysis, and coordination with legal teams.
Transaction & Deal Execution:
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing transactions.
- Prepare investment memoranda and assist in drafting legal documents.
- Participate in investment committee meetings, presenting key financial insights.
Portfolio & Asset Management:
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify value-add opportunities.
- Support asset-level business plans, repositioning strategies, and capital improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with property managers and leasing teams to analyze rent trends and expense management.
Industry & Market Insights:
- Stay informed on economic, capital market, and real estate trends.
- Utilize business intelligence tools for data-driven decision-making.
- Assess emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education & Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or Business.
- MBA, MS in Real Estate, or certifications (CFA, ARGUS, CCIM) preferred.
- 2-5+ years in real estate investment, acquisitions, or asset management, with a focus on multifamily properties.
- Experience in private equity, investment banking, or commercial real estate finance preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and investment analysis skills.
- Advanced Excel modeling, including cash flow analysis and waterfall structures.
- Proficiency in ARGUS, Yardi, CoStar, and other real estate platforms.
- Strong PowerPoint and data visualization skills.
